I’ve been MIA on the blog page for a while—it’s been a busy time at Sumo Logic!
I wanted to take a moment to announce something that we’ve been working on for months: Sumo Logic Doc Hub, the one-stop documentation site that pulls together all the information you need to get up and running with Sumo Logic.
This is the third phase of documentation at Sumo Logic. We started with cherry-picking Help content into each release branch, which was entertaining to say the least. A few years ago we began using S3 to deliver our content, bringing us a step closer towards having a true help system. Now, with Doc Hub, we’re moving into the world of content management, and delivering a modern interface that our customers need. We’re also consolidating the Knowledge Base and adding links to all training videos. This, by far, is my proudest moment at Sumo Logic, because our drive to serve our customers has been met by a toolset that enables us to work with you.
The Doc Hub gives you, the user, a chance to provide feedback directly to the writing team:
- If we’re missing the mark on any given topic, we want to know. You can vote a topic up or down if you just have a second.
- Want to provide more info? Send us a quick message about what needs to change, and if you’d like to hear back, we’ll pass on our thanks when we’ve incorporated your ideas.
Internally we’ve implemented a program called “Doc Debt” where we carve out time to make small, yet important, changes to Help content. I’m happy to have this process in place so we can take Doc Debt feedback from anyone who logs in to the Doc Hub, and then make those updates ASAP.
Additionally, with Doc Hub, we’ve laid the groundwork to make it easier for our users to stay in the know.
- You’ll now be able to subscribe to topics, such as the Release Notes. This means you’ll never miss a new feature or an important fix that rolls out in a Sumo Logic upgrade.
- For customers who prefer to keep Help content as offline PDFs, you can save a copy of any topic to your computer and refer to it later.
We hope you’ll keep an eye out as our design continues to change. We’ll also support SAML in the near future, meaning that you’ll have a seamless experience with support. In the mean time, let us know how we’re doing!
